Borders Download Free eBooks

Tips and Tricks, Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Did you know that you can download over a million free eBooks at Borders.com? You can download the eReader for free and then the eBooks can be read on your Desktop computer (Mac or PC), iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Blackberry or Android phone.

For a limited time, (ends July 14th), Borders is giving away 5 best selling eBooks for free. They are: “Frankenstein:Prodigal Son” by Dean Koontz, “One Shot” by Lee Child, “The Alchemist” by Michael Scott, “Julia’s Kitchen Wisdom” by Julia Child, and “Master Your Metabolism” by Jillian Michaels.

To view the Borders free eBooks, click HERE

Here are the features of the eReader from the Borders.com website:

  • browse and buy eBooks at Borders.com, where you’ll find over a million titles,
including a generous selection of free books
  • search by title, author, topic, or keyword
  • make quick and easy purchases
  • access your eBook Library
  • download eBooks for offline reading
  • enjoy automatic bookmarking, print quality resolution, smooth transitions between
pages and chapters, and customized fonts and type sizes

I installed the free app to my Android phone. I set up at free account at  Borders.com. They did require a credit card number but it was not charged as I downloaded a free eBook. The process was easy. It’s a little strange to read a book on the small screen of a phone, but I could see myself using this app. It does use up memory fast and I had to recharge my phone sooner than usual. But hey, it’s free!

Borders also has a new eReader called the Kobo. It retails for $149.99 and for a limited time, comes with a $20 Borders gift card and double Borders Bucks. You can read the details at the Borders website.

If you are interested in the Nook or the Kindle, read my article about current prices and a comparison of these two eReaders.

The Borders website was down for awhile tonight and they posted a 30% off coupon for the inconvenience. The coupon code is THANKS712 to get 30% off 1 item at Borders.com. It did not specify if you could use it to purchase the Kobo eReader!

Solutions for saving money, that’s what  More With Less Today is all about. Financial experts tell us to cut our expenses, this site shows you numerous ways to do just that.

Amazon.com discontinued their price protection policy last year. However, they did give me a $60 credit when the price of the Kindle I bought two weeks ago dropped by $60.00. You can read the details HERE in my article.
